Estimating Central Venous Pressure from Internal Jugular Vein parameters using vascular ultrasound probe
- Prospective cohort study to estimate Central Venous Pressure (CVP) using more readily available vascular probe by correlating values with actual CVP from Right Heart Catheterization and estimated CVP from Inferior Vena Cava collapsibility.
- Created and presented the study protocol and patient consent forms to the IRB, and Human Research Protection Program (HRPP). Approved by HRPP and IRB. Small number of patients enrolled.
Assessing the Outcomes of Hospitalized Patients with COVID-19 on Amiodarone
- In vitro studies have shown that Amiodarone has activity against COVID virus. This is a retrospective case-control study to compare outcomes of COVID patients with atrial fibrillation that were on amiodarone at the admission to those that were not. Manuscript published.
Coronary Artery Proximity to Ablation Sites utilizing Cardiac Computed Tomography (CCTA)
- Retrospective cohort study measuring proximity of Coronary Arteries to the Right Ventricle Outflow Tract and Cavotricuspid isthmus (CTI) using Computed Tomography Angiography of Coronary Arteries.
- Abstract presented as a poster at American College of Cardiology (ACC) 2022 conference in Washington D.C. Assisted in collecting data and writing manuscript.
Kruppel-like factor (KLF) 4 regulates developmental angiogenesis through disruption of the RBP-JβNICDβMAML complex in intron
- Cultured cells and obtained DNA samples from mice to understand the role of KLF4 in angiogenesis, which can treat ischemic conditions such as atherosclerosis, peripheral arterial disease and other vascular diseases that induce vascular proliferation.
Incorporate linkage system in a walker to assist in patients with lower limb weakness rehabilitation
- Designed a four-bar linkage mechanism that mimics the natural human knee-gait pattern and a mechatronic walk-assist device.
